Anyone try it yet?
We picked it up yesterday as it is the replacement for the regualr pp chicky and rice.
It has small chunks of dried chicky that they seem to really like.

We picked up the Pro Plan Lamb and Rice which has those same dried chunks. Our pups love it and we noticed how shiny their coats are.

I have not seen it yet. Is it replacing the old or do you have a choice.

I THINK it replaces the old. Check out the pro plan website, it's all there.

we switched back to pro plan from pro plan select due to the rising costs but I'm not crazy about the addition of soft moist food added to the bags so we may be switching ours to the eagle pack premium line (not holisitc) It is now readily available in our pet food store. A few years ago when I fed it, I had to order it but I remember the dogs liked it and did pretty well on it.

Hot Rod eats Pro Plan Chicky and Rice .He still has about a half bag left of the "old" I bet he will love the bits of chicky when Josh gets a new bag. I hope they didnt change the formula for the dried chunks because Hot Rod does so well on it.

Anyone notice that they need to feed more of the new formula to keep weight on? The dogs LOVE it. I mean, race to their bowls, scarf it down and beg for more love it, but both look a little thinner to me after being on it for 3 weeks. Of course, I've been walking with them a lot more recently.
How much would you feed an 85lb greyhound? I give them almost 4 cups a day.

I saw that last time I was at the store. I used to feed proplan for over 10 years but switched to corn free about 2 years ago and now feed kirkland. HOnestly I didnt notice a big difference with corn free to food with corn. However the dogs are doing great on kirland and its way cheaper.
I would be interested in seeing if the ingredients in the kibble are lower in quality now. Meat is still the #1 ingredient BUT is that because of the shredded chunks and is the kibble now lower in quality?

I bought a small bag of the beef formula, mixed it with our usual Diamond Natural chicken and rice. The dogs seemed to like it, so I bought a BIG bag of the chicken formula.
For the past three days, since I've been giving them ONLY the Purina ProPlan shredded blend, ALL THREE have finished every bite of their meals! Even BREAKFAST, which is usually rather half-hearted around here! They really seem to like it!

This is part of an email that I got from Purina:
The original Pro Plan Chicken & Rice, Beef & Rice and Natural Lamb & Rice Adult Formulas are now Pro Plan Shredded Blend Formulas (all other Pro Plan Formulas have remained the same). Pro Plan Shredded Blend contains eighty-five percent of the original kibble, plus new, tender, shredded pieces for extraordinary palatability. While the new formulas continue to offer 100% complete and balanced nutrition and the nutrient statements have remained exactly the same, they test at a much higher palatability than the original formulas. In feeding tests, 89% of dogs preferred Shredded Blend Natural Lamb & Rice to the original Lamb & Rice Formula. Likewise, 88% preferred Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice and 81% preferred Shredded Blend Beef & Rice over their original formulas. In addition, these outstanding results have been validated by breeders who have already fed the products to their own dogs – an important factor for those with dogs who may be less eager to eat in stressful situations such as shows, field events, traveling, etc.
This new enhancement continues to follow Purina’s innovative developments in kibbled dog food – first extrusion, then the slurry process and now the shredded pieces. For almost three years, Purina has worked on the development and testing of this product enhancement. The new shredded pieces are 100% complete and balanced and made with a unique blend containing real chicken, beef or lamb, plus low levels of soy. The soy and soybean meal are important new ingredients, and are found only in the shredded piece. They have been added solely to aid in the formation of the textured, shredded kibble. Although soy is also an additional source of protein, it has not served as a substitute for the real chicken, beef or lamb – the high-quality protein sources that are a cornerstone of Pro Plan nutrition. The new piece also contains glycerin. Though glycerin can often be confused as a form of sugar, it actually contains no sugar but is a humectant, which helps to keep moisture in the shredded pieces. You may have also noticed that salt has moved higher up in the ingredient list. This does not mean the new product contains more salt than the original formulas – in fact, it contains less. Salt has only moved up because other ingredient levels have decreased, so slight changes have occurred in the overall order.
Pro Plan Shredded Blend has been thoroughly tested by breeders, and the results are extremely positive. Information provided by those tested showed their dogs absolutely loved the new formulas, while their coats still stayed beautiful and glossy, they maintained healthy weights, and their stools remained the same, low volumes.

All three of my pups eat the Pro Plan Lamb and Rice. My boy has the most sensitive tummy of the three, and I was nervous about the new formula. We gradually switched over last week, and thank goodness, it has been a smooth transition. Poops are perfect, and they love the food.
Over time, I have tried many other foods, and Gunner does best on this food!!!!! Everywhere I take Lexy people comment on how shiney her coat is!
Silversmom, I think you will start to see it. My Petco and Petsmart (Freehold, and Manalapan) and The Hungry Puppy (Farmingdale) all have it now.
